What impact will the suspension of the SLCP Report Error Addenda have on the factory?

The SLCP official announced recently that it will suspend the SLCP appendix process until further notice.

What is the Appendix Process?

The SLCP Appendix, also known as the Report Error Addenda, clarifies its relevant rules in the SLCP Quality Assurance Manual (QA) v2.3 version updated in April 2023.

Why pause the appendix process?

The current appendix process is used to correct any incorrect factory self/joint evaluation responses and evaluator/verifier options that were not corrected before the final validation was determined (before the VRF status). In the past few months, SLCP has seen anincrease in demand for appendices. The appendix is designed for a special purpose. This is a burden for SLCP, validators/validation companies, and factories that wish to urgently provide corrective reports to buyers. SLCP hopes that the factory strictly follows this procedure.

What does the factory need to do?

The current important thing for the factory is to conduct a self/joint assessment and carefully review the final validation report within a 14 day review period. Before clicking "final confirmation", it is necessary to ensure that the data in the final report is recognized.

When the factory reviews the report during the 14 day review period and discovers errors, please contact ASCP Services in a timely manner to change the report status from Verified Completed (VRC) to Verified Under Editing (VRE). If the factory does not have enough time to make corrections and the 14 day deadline is coming to an end, the factory can raise a dispute to continue the process. In the dispute box of the approved hosting platform, write: "We need more time for editing; we need to extend the review deadline."

The factory cannot modify or add information to the validated evaluation report. After the report is completed, no further changes can be made.

If there have been significant changes in your factory conditions since the last SLCP evaluation, please start a new evaluation to obtain a validated set of data that accurately reflects your factory conditions. No need to wait for a whole year.
