Introduction to GRS certification materials

1： GRS material collection

Material collection refers to the collection of recycled materials into a new life cycle after their original use. (i.e., if it is not collected and recycled, it will enter the waste process).

2： GRS post consumer materials

Materials produced by end product users, households, commercial, industrial and institutional facilities that can no longer be used for their intended purposes. Includes materials recovered from the distribution chain.

3： GRS pre consumer materials

Materials transferred from the waste stream during the manufacturing process. The reuse of some materials, such as rework, regrinding or residual materials generated in processing and reused in the same processing process, shall be excluded.

4： GRS recycled materials

Materials that are not treated as waste or used for energy recovery, but are put into the collected recycling as materials and used for recycling instead of new raw materials.

5： GRS recycled material content

The proportion of recycled materials in the product or package is calculated by mass. Only pre consumption and post consumption are considered as recycled content.
