The difference between GRS certification and RCS certification

GRS certification and RCS certification are both recycling standards, but their scope of application is different... First of all, let's understand the meaning of these two types of certification.

GRS certification is applicable to products with 20% - 100% recycled raw materials.

Recycling declaration standard - RCS certification, the full name of which is Recycled Claimed Standard in English, is another recycling (regeneration) standard introduced by TE Textile Trading Organization in 2013, which is used to provide certification basis for products using recycled raw materials.

RCS certification is applicable to renewable raw material content of 5% or more.

RCS certification differs from GRS certification in that:

1. GRS is an advanced version of RCS: RCS products can use GRS certified raw materials,but GRS products cannot use RCS raw materials.

2. GRS is applicable to products containing 20% -% recycled raw materials.

3. GRS adds environmental and social responsibility requirements on the basis of RCS requirements.

4. The certification marks are different.

5. GRS has requirements for chemicals used in the process, but RCS does not.

Therefore, the main differences between the two are:

Different recovery content: the recovery content certified by GRS needs to be more than 20%; However, the recycled content of RCS certification is only above 5%.

Environmental and social responsibility audit: GRS needs environmental and social responsibility audit; RCS does not require environmental and social responsibility audits.
