What is SLCP? Why is SLCP important to your enterprise?Issuing time:2022-11-07 14:03 Social&Labor Convergence Program ("SLCP" for short) is a project promoted by the Sustainable Clothing Alliance (SAC) and strongly supported by major organizations and companies in the sports goods industry. The goal of the project is to create an integrated assessment framework (CAF) for social labor data collection, establish a set of descriptive (standard neutral) tools and verification methods for collecting relevant necessary data in the global clothing and footwear supply chain, objectively assess social and labor conditions, replace the current proprietary assessment tools, and gather all efforts to support stakeholders to improve the working conditions of the global clothing and footwear supply chain.
Among them, the overall evaluation framework covers the verified data on child labor and forced labor, occupational health and safety, wages and other issues, and includes three elements: data collection and verification tools, which are used to collect data to verify the social labor conditions of the factory; Validation protocol to explain how to understand and answer the questions in the tool; A guide for verifiers to support verifiers during the validation process. These data can help each brand or standard organization make its own judgment on whether the status quo is acceptable (compliant). The social labor integration project creates a general overall evaluation framework to help you eliminate audit fatigue. By replacing the current proprietary evaluation tools, it avoids duplication and reduces the number of social labor audits, so that the resources previously used for compliance audits can be reused to improve social and labor working conditions, while increasing the comparability of social and labor data. SLCP will help the whole industry establish mutual trust and respect, measure, understand and gradually improve working conditions over time. At the same time, it can also make great contributions to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) and the promotion of global sustainable development. At present, the contracting parties of SLCP cover manufacturers, brands and retailers, multi stakeholders/standards organizations, government organizations, etc. All contracting parties supervise the project at all levels. |
